Art Bead Scene Blog: The High Cost of Silver

I've been tagged, and tagged, and tagged!

Everyone knows what a chain letter is.  I was always the one to break the chain and I'm still here to tell about it.  Now we have a chain blog posting...lol.  I was trying to ignore it but since I have now be tagged by 3 different people, I'll just bite the bullet and do it.  This chain blog entry is a list of 10 things about ME.

1.  I am 52 years old...shut your mouth now.  I know I don't look it!  lol 

2.  I became a wife when I was 18, a mother at 19, and a single-mother at age 20.

3.  I have a daughter who is 33 years old and lives in Raleigh/Durham, NC. (she weighted 10 1/2 lbs when she was born.)

4.  In my lifetime I have lived in a number of different places. As a child I lived in Portsmouth, VA, Hawaii, and I grew up in Fort Smith, AR. I left Fort Smith when I was 23 and moved to Wichita, KS. I later moved to Boston, MA, Manchester, NH, and then finally Atlanta, GA where I have lived for past 15 years.
 
5.  I worked in telecommunications for 23 years. 
 
6.  I have a boyfriend who is also my best friend Colin, and 2 wonderful dogs.  Charley is a black lab mix and Emma is a Saluki or Afghan mix.
 
7.  My daughter makes jewelry and set me up with tools and supplies for my 50th birthday.  I have been creating jewelry steadily ever since.
 
8.  If I have a boo boo I wear Hello Kitty band-aids.
 
9.  I'm a good cook, but I don't like to cook, so I don't.  Colin buys all the groceries and fixes all our meals.  I will put pop-tarts in the toaster but that's about it.
 
10.  My mother was around 5"10" tall, my dad is around 6'1", and I'm 5'3".

Who is that?

I get a real kick when someone asks about my avatar.  Is it me?  Is it my daughter?  The answer to both questions is NOPE.  I have to bite my tongue because I want to say "Do you not see the pointed ears"?..lol  It's all in fun!


Actually, my beautiful avatar (whom I have named Jewel, but sometimes I refer to her as Jewelley) is a fairy and she is what is called a "poser".  It's all part of the amazing digital art that's being done these days.  Some people specialize in just making the bodies.  Others like to use the premade body and create the hair, makeup, clothes, etc.  They are used a lot in fantasy art.  I am just in total awe of the whole thing.
